Chain Barrier systems are used in a variety of situations, especially in environments where hazardous events are likely to occur, such as on construction sites. They are also used to help direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic and to keep people out of certain areas. Post and chain barrier systems can be used to cordon off areas easily and quickly, thus providing safety and preventing major accidents from taking place. Let’s look at the different types of chain Barriers and where they can be used.

The Different Uses of A Chain Barrier System

A post and chain barrier system is a robust solution designed to keep people away from hazards and also to control queues inside stores, at schools and airports and other such environments. Wherever a safe zone is required the chain barrier can be easily installed & left in place and cannot be easily moved or disturbed. It is also a good barrier system to ensure health and safety at different work spaces for employees and customers. Chain barriers are ideal for controlling, routing and keeping people safe from moving vehicles or machinery. At roof level it can be used to keep rooftop workers away from fall hazards. Since it is also easy to install, it is a widely used safety solution.

The Use of Ladder Tags for Safety at Building Sites

According to UK Research, a ladder tag holder is sturdy, weather proof plastic, fixed securely to a ladder. Inspection inserts are then slotted inside the holder, which have bold coloured designs for easy visibility. During periodic inspection, the safety inspector will sign the insert if the equipment is deemed safe for use. If the ladder or scaffolding is unsafe for use, then the insert is removed and a “do not use” message is printed in red on the holder, so everyone will know that particular ladder or scaffolding should not be used. A tag that is hard to read or UV faded, will not give the user the information required, to assess if a ladder or scaffolding is safe to use or not. A ladder tag holder should meet the Safety Installer & Safety Inspection & Testing standard that requires tag holders to be weather proof and UV resistant so that the safety critical information contained within does not fade and the holder itself stays securely fixed.

With social distancing being the norm of the day, post and chain barrier systems have become mandatory to ensure that people can move about without worrying about catching any infectious disease and to control the flow of pedestrian traffic, especially at Hotels, Airports, Malls and other such establishments. Safety is also a priority at any work place, this is when ladder tags are essential to keep workers safe at construction sites. A ladder tag holder can also help to prevent accidental falls or other untoward incidents at industrial sites, especially as there is heavy equipment and machinery being used on a regular basis.
